Our Story

Founded in 2021, Mac Campus Pollination Meadow initially started as a group term project for a course at McGill University called WILD421: Wildlife Conservation which was taught by Professor Kyle Elliott. Through this course, we were given the opportunity to help a non-profit organization rehabilitate part of the Grand Parc de l'Ouest.  Due to the lack of suitable habitat spaces for native wildlife, our group decided to design a native meadow for pollinators and birds on the Macdonald Campus to help protect and reintroduce biodiversity into the area.

After much research and team meetings through Zoom, we gave an 80-minute presentation about the local landscape ecology of the area and also the native pollination meadow we designed.

After receiving so much positive feedback and encouragement from our classmates and professor, and realization of how much this project meant to us, we decided to look into the feasibility of making it happen.
